Agile | Genius | Friendly
Cabrello is possibly the most courageous of all our stallions, with a kind-hearted, high-spirited nature that carries over into everything he does. At the first sign of trouble, Cabrello adopts the stallion pose, head held high, tail raised, ears and eyes forward, chest up and nostrils flared. He is a very strong horse in both body and mind, and it takes a lot to change his mind once he has come to a decision. This is both a blessing and a curse, because if he sees a flag laying on the ground that he decides is safe, you can take that flag and wave it around him and he will hold true to his conclusion, but if he is startled from his first meeting with that flag, it is very hard to show him it is safe.
This young stallion is built to protect and defend, often being the one to challenge any threat and become the dominant horse of the herd in times of stress. He is still too young to have earned his place at the top of the herd, but he seems to be the second in command and a favorite among all horses. Perhaps it is due in part to his Irish Sport Horse blood, Cabrello keeps a very level head under most circumstances and can carry the burden of leading for short periods of time already. He is always first to the best patch of grass when let out to pasture, and has to assert his dominance over everyone except when placed in the same pasture as Trevallis and Hridayesh, in which case he backs down without any further dispute. But there is a much lighter side to Cabrello that he uses for mares and humans. He is a very gentle horse considering his size, age, and anatomy. He leads very politely and is a great horse to ride. He is responsive and curious about his surroundings and listens to each of his rider's instructions, rarely failing to execute a command after he has learned it. He is a lover that rarely pins his ears, even when out in pasture. He adores baths, sugar cubes, pets, and of course, mares. But he is also a very smart horse, with a good sense of mind, able to keep calm in situations where other horses would struggle. He is able to relax in most situations, giving him his nearly bombproof temperament and with some work, we are sure he will improve. |

What color foal will I get?
Cabrello has been DNA tested and confirmed to be Homozygous Dominant for both the Black gene and the Agouti gene. This means that, without any modifiers on the mare's side, he will ONLY produce Bay foals, regardless if the mare is Black, Bay, or Chestnut. With different modifiers in place, however, the foal can come out in colors such as Buckskin, Silver Bay, Dunskin, Bay Dun or Bay Roan. His foals will not turn grey unless the mare carries the grey gene and passes it onto the foal. |
